Lodging industry employees who have lost their job or been furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to have their educational expenses covered by the Foundation. An employment verification form provided by the AHLA Foundation will require signature by the employee’s prior employer, along with a copy of the employee’s most recent paystub in order to be deemed eligible.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
If English is not your primary language, the AHLA Foundation can help you learn valuable English skills so that you can communicate more effectively with hotel guests and fellow employees. Classes are taught via online learning and can help to improve your language ability through an easy to understand method. The AHLA Foundation will cover all of your expenses for this online learning program.

Have you ever wanted to complete your high school diploma but have not had the time or financial resources? The GED is a recognized alternative to the US High School Diploma, and the AHLA Foundation can provide scholarship funding to help you pursue a GED online. Passing the GED test gives those who do not complete high school, or who do not meet requirements for high school diploma, the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency credential.

Associate Degree Courses
Are you an industry employee who has always wanted to obtain a college degree but never had the time? Or did you start your degree but temporarily stop due to financial constraints? The AHLA Foundation can cover the cost so you can enroll in online post-secondary classes from a list of approved partners in the weeks ahead. Depending on the number of classes, your major or degree, and your current school it is possible that 100% of your expenses will be covered by this scholarship fund.
