AHLA Foundation Research Grant Program
An important part of the AHLA Foundation’s mission is making grants available for research projects that benefit the industry at large. Since 1995, the Foundation has distributed over $4 million in grants. The Foundation has supported researchers who explore issues that are critical to our industry and generate data and insights we use to tell the hotel industry’s story.
Applying for a Research Grant
We accept unsolicited applications from individuals or organizations wishing to conduct research in the lodging industry. Applications may be submitted here three times each year, by March 15, June 15, and September 15. Please carefully review the Research and Project Funding Guidelines and Application Instructions, and FAQs before beginning the online application.
Research grant application process
The Foundation typically budgets $250,000 annually for research grants. The Research and Project Funding Committee, comprised primarily of hotel operators, oversees the grant program and makes recommendations for funded projects.
