What is the Leadership Academy experience?

The Leadership Academy is comprised of 10 interactive learning hours over five months — starting with an extensive kickoff session followed by a series of online sustainment sessions. Blending educational content with opportunities for self-reflection, the learning curriculum delved into the dimensions of diversity and leaders gained tips on how to build organizational capacity within their teams.

I was fortunate to participate in AHLA Foundation’s Leadership Academy, held in New Orleans. One of my biggest take-aways involved what DE&I truly involves and that the dimensions of diversity total more than 30 specific areas. The AHLA Foundation and Korn Ferry have been and continue to be great partners. We understand that this is real work and will take time. We are experts at running hotels and feel it necessary to have partners like these providing guidance. In the end, we will be better as an industry through the work being conducted. Although we spent 1 ½ day in New Orleans, the work continues and will continue well into the future.
